The joy of books

There is something very special about books.  The reader is able to connect with another person by simply reading aloud.  The book becomes the vehicle for a spiritual connection between author, reader and listener.  Being read to is sensual, relaxing, therapeutic and educational.  It cannot be manufactured, or replaced.  I cannot express how vitally important it is that adults read to the children in their lives.  I also cannot express the beauty of a human voice bringing life to the written word.  Taylor Mali sort of wrote a poem about it and then performed it.  Enjoy.
