World Teachers' Day Australia!

Today is the day that Australia celebrates World Teachers' Day!
I slept in to celebrate.  I hope you celebrated by loving all the teachers in your life!  Be sure to tell them they are awesome!

As I'm officially having a quiet day, I decided to simply show you other people's brilliance.

Hey, we're honest.

Armed and Dangerous

Only the Best Teachers

Emotional Labour isn't counted in the EB agreement.

It's hard to believe when they are licking the desk, but I'm sure it's true.

Progress is the best goal.

For the Teachers... I don't know what job you have.

Good advice for anyone.

Love Your Teachers.... Tell us about your favourite teacher in the comments.
Nap time!

Look What I Made!

An online craft store was having a big sale on selected items.  I got a little bit excited and spent about $50 on about $75 dollars worth of products.  I got some clear stamps, co-ordinating dies, a background stamp and some gorgeous red rubber stamps.  Only, I thought I was buying three red rubber background stamps.  You see, the size of the stamps were not listed on the site.  It didn't say they were background stamps on the website, I just assumed they were because they were red rubber.  Silly me!

I decided that I was stuck with these stamps so I might as well use them and I made two cards that have turned out to be absolutely beautiful! Look....

I tried some multi-coloured stamping on this peacock feather stamp using Something Borrowed, Aquatini and Lime Rickey inks by Catherine Pooler.  I stamped it repeatedly to make this background and added some small stars using Something Borrowed.  The sentiment comes from a stamp set by Unity Stamps.  I love this sentiment!

This card was made using the other red rubber stamp I purchased by accident. It was this lovely bouquet in a vase.  I added a sentiment from a birthday set by Casual Fridays.  Some mirror cardstock and a strip of patterned paper set off this simple stamping to make this elegant all occasion card.

I'm really happy with the cards I made with these stamps that stamp perfectly every time.  I have so many ideas running around my head for some different ways to use these stamps.  Stay tuned for more cards using these stamps.

Until Next Time

#oneword365 update

This will be a quick one!

I'm here to update you on my one word resolution for 2019. My word is "Pause". If you want to read more about my One Word 365 journey, click here.  Today, I want to talk briefly about the fourth point of my 'action plan' to live my word, Pause this year, it's Breathe First.

I used to think that intentional or controlled breathing was a load of proverbial rubbish.  The idea that by simply stopping to breathe and focusing on your breathing could positively affect your state of mind, help manage pain or change your overall health seemed a bit ridiculous to me.  In fact, whenever I tried controlled breathing, I often struggled to then ignore my breathing and relax.  Of course that was a result of my overwhelming anxiety rather than anything else.

This year, I have learned how to breathe better and I am noticing a difference in my physical health.  Of course the "breathing" is usually in conjunction with stretching or other exercises. I have to admit that this breathing thing actually works.  It doesn't cure the plague.  It can help you feel better in the moment.  It helps me feel better.

Check out resources for more information on controlled and intentional breathing, meditation with breathing and the health benefits of focusing on your breath from time to time.

I'm on school holidays and having a wonderful time.  I'm doing well.

See you Next Week.
