November....

October was breast cancer awareness month.  November is known (in Australia at least) as MOvember.  Men are encouraged to grow their facial hair, specifically into a moustache, to raise awareness of Prostate Cancer Information.  The opportunity is taken throughout the month to

• raise money for cancer research
• raise awareness of the symptoms of prostate cancer
• push the blokes in the direction of their GP for a check up
• raise awareness of other men's health issues

Dad is in hospital again.  

A brother of a friend is battling cancer.  

A male colleague of mine has a varicose vain and will be undergoing surgery to have it removed in a few weeks.  When he informed me that he had a varicose vain I stifled a laugh.  I didn't do it very well mind you.  We then discussed the fact that when one hears "varicose vain" one tends to picture a woman in her 50's or 60's.  One doesn't picture a healthy 38 year old male.  

That's all I have to say about that.
