The coloured piece is made by ink smooshing and then some repeated stamping with a co-ordinating ink colour and a complimentary ink colour. I used a border die to cut the panel in half and make two cards. Adding a cake image that I coloured and a fun sentiment, finishes this card off. <div><br /></div><div>I recreated this card using a purple ink smooshed panel and a different border die. I had more cake images, but I tried different sentiments and sequins to see how I liked that. This layout works with the coloured panel at the top or the bottom, which is great. I like that I can get some very different looks from such a simple layout. </div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqBDH0tiaB64r8UqgF668Gw9er2VegHqjXP3xjWij1jey2pwOV-AfGddZtLueGF_zEloSjhqxhgSSucdsBqgb2ltgKg_3Dhcm9ynwZDhrlKdJlrhUDxxjyDXBK-pqBsLyq-FGWfyUfepSTE-MESMtC6HVsu0-MnsU3e8OGtXE0rmd1VwBkrb3f8eNBWQ/s474/it%20your%20bday%20purple.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="474" data-original-width="474" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqBDH0tiaB64r8UqgF668Gw9er2VegHqjXP3xjWij1jey2pwOV-AfGddZtLueGF_zEloSjhqxhgSSucdsBqgb2ltgKg_3Dhcm9ynwZDhrlKdJlrhUDxxjyDXBK-pqBsLyq-FGWfyUfepSTE-MESMtC6HVsu0-MnsU3e8OGtXE0rmd1VwBkrb3f8eNBWQ/s320/it%20your%20bday%20purple.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbrw2OHq7m8B64AjtCPC785P3XTpL1crinZCTmlXLcso_Eln_FqtOIfFIyurfd6-reBAviJguTU09v8Dx5U06ityZTO54FVAHc3su1bwtkDRPjkuqNVKMCfaMmMAld33-4NPUFOxj_BEsJ40G5MgdaXt6PzKrWkXa1Sxj1cN_EMR9YUyLLA4DLxEGRDw/s474/purple%202.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="474" data-original-width="474" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbrw2OHq7m8B64AjtCPC785P3XTpL1crinZCTmlXLcso_Eln_FqtOIfFIyurfd6-reBAviJguTU09v8Dx5U06ityZTO54FVAHc3su1bwtkDRPjkuqNVKMCfaMmMAld33-4NPUFOxj_BEsJ40G5MgdaXt6PzKrWkXa1Sxj1cN_EMR9YUyLLA4DLxEGRDw/s320/purple%202.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div>I loved this so much, that I decided to try this again with a different stamp set. I often change up the designs or just pull out the same supplies to help me make a new card. Sometimes, I pull out a card that I made very early in my card making journey and recreate it. I often choose cards that I made with limited supplies and limited knowledge/ skills. </p><p>This card was made using a stamp set from Winnie and Walter and Memento inks. I didn't have a huge selection of card stocks and I was trying to use up what I had. I also used a Happy Birthday Die from Kaisercraft. I remember when I made this card, I had so much trouble getting it to fit the card base and look right. I had to add extra strips of card stock to try and get things to look right. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDFEOTQLhu88RhewyBFEM6QtvDu416Ydz5nISV8pxe7qQnpWDU_bl-38tKJ9FQDJ2QSpJADN2PNpJvrH4_uEP3czyyKpC5Zdd0REaatvmpk80reSAtT59UVw_GnuZxlZV4ch8GJ0g3TzVR2qKtF0OiHPcQqhGvdqBLFifQoU8X1GLqO_kKuLfEIxFW/s563/hb%20using%20ring%20in%20the%20celebration.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="418" data-original-width="563" height="238" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDFEOTQLhu88RhewyBFEM6QtvDu416Ydz5nISV8pxe7qQnpWDU_bl-38tKJ9FQDJ2QSpJADN2PNpJvrH4_uEP3czyyKpC5Zdd0REaatvmpk80reSAtT59UVw_GnuZxlZV4ch8GJ0g3TzVR2qKtF0OiHPcQqhGvdqBLFifQoU8X1GLqO_kKuLfEIxFW/s320/hb%20using%20ring%20in%20the%20celebration.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><p><br /></p><p>This time around, I didn't have the same "Happy Birthday" die, so I used a different one from MFT. I also used Catherine Pooler inks instead of my Momento ones. I used Neenah Solar White 80lb card stock. The only thing the same, was the stamp set by Winnie and Walter. I didn't need to improvise so much on this card. I stacked the happy birthday sentiment three times on this second card. I think that makes a big difference. </p><p><br /></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5DHFXMKHmRfozTWGPe-7g3Lf0k1yoO7JHvn2jNQju_OOaGqlLu55PRdMgiW3qF2PgBRnsv5BpBDSXVTSI1JmP4q4p940DBKNYyIfvAUPi_APNCCEPac8gdqYqRF9IJ46K5y6cSMf5_6JcCiXpH3Xu_8lvC1KOI-44ekG60oD_91ariSisJhc71f_m/s2329/IMG_20221019_172334.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2329" data-original-width="2329" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5DHFXMKHmRfozTWGPe-7g3Lf0k1yoO7JHvn2jNQju_OOaGqlLu55PRdMgiW3qF2PgBRnsv5BpBDSXVTSI1JmP4q4p940DBKNYyIfvAUPi_APNCCEPac8gdqYqRF9IJ46K5y6cSMf5_6JcCiXpH3Xu_8lvC1KOI-44ekG60oD_91ariSisJhc71f_m/s320/IMG_20221019_172334.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><p><br /></p>I have to say, there is one thing I would change about this card if I made it again. I would use a different green ink, or place my darker circles in different places so that the "Happy Birthday" would stand out more. I'm still very happy with how this card turned out. <p></p><p>I know I promised to share my Christmas card batch... it's coming. I've made them - really, I have. </p><p>Let me know in the comments if you are interested in more details about this card- specific colours of ink, etc. </p><p>See you next time. <br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlI0hfVR7ZyuSY3QOsSjp6X7M4mw30VLkbVhn-4pvs7mh0BiBF_lqvVCaE85-EogWSjWYD_vbE4Sfc-fnQUIQ-bW3fKmVFktHxYNzSSkDATJK5TkBGasOAZupwZpDTKwObkzOtOJ9UtW7qHd035VCt6TYcbu5coMYIKRivl5eLrGvLZ9kLQEzoj9T_ig/s161/mbutterfly.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="161" data-original-width="140" height="161" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlI0hfVR7ZyuSY3QOsSjp6X7M4mw30VLkbVhn-4pvs7mh0BiBF_lqvVCaE85-EogWSjWYD_vbE4Sfc-fnQUIQ-bW3fKmVFktHxYNzSSkDATJK5TkBGasOAZupwZpDTKwObkzOtOJ9UtW7qHd035VCt6TYcbu5coMYIKRivl5eLrGvLZ9kLQEzoj9T_ig/s1600/mbutterfly.png" width="140" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p>MHhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15999307789329006815noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1232028203506139858.post-66716414045097182202022-10-22T08:00:00.002+10:002022-10-22T08:00:00.160+10:00I don't have any Christmas Supplies! Make Christmas Cards using what you have. <p> Christmas Stamps and Dies are beautiful and we want them all, right? I know I do. </p><p>When you are just starting out as a crafter, you have limited space or limited cash, it is hard to justify spending money on a stamp set you only use 'once a year'. Also, many of the specifically Christmas stamp sets, only make one thing or one way. We want supplies that can pull double duty. </p><p>If you don't have any Christmas stamps or dies, you can still make beautiful Christmas Cards. If you want to invest in something for Christmas I would choose a simple sentiment such as Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Joy to the World. Something like that. Let's dive in. </p><p><br /></p><p>These two cards were made with not one Christmas item! </p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiguO2xQRrlMrmvtf26toLAsSRybV5jP4kjleOr_iuEeRMxSe8kxfmFbo2DtLWA5bJbDcXL3AQNfNyHUVlAYOiwZph7du32EaPVQclsoin4D1EvnVRn0Gxb9U4b5M1Icxa0KUyWfPKnnuBhJjg6YVxTLGzHSAaVaAIzZWujVi9o6dbaxXW4XSZW2kFr2g/s564/ink%20blending.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="564" data-original-width="564" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiguO2xQRrlMrmvtf26toLAsSRybV5jP4kjleOr_iuEeRMxSe8kxfmFbo2DtLWA5bJbDcXL3AQNfNyHUVlAYOiwZph7du32EaPVQclsoin4D1EvnVRn0Gxb9U4b5M1Icxa0KUyWfPKnnuBhJjg6YVxTLGzHSAaVaAIzZWujVi9o6dbaxXW4XSZW2kFr2g/s320/ink%20blending.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The And Sentiments from Catherine Pooler has these three words in it. <br />So good, right. I also promised to share with you a few of the insights I had during my retreat. </p><p>1. I love listening to Praise and Worship Music. Why don't I listen to it more?! Therefore, I will listen to my Christian Music playlists when I craft and during my quiet time - maybe not everyday, but so much more than before. </p><p>2. Memorising Scripture really changes my mindset and it helps me to focus on God's love. Therefore, I am going to start using my scripture memorisation app again. Why did I stop? If you want to learn more about this app, <a href="http://agreattitle.blogspot.com/2017/10/scripture-typer-impartial-review.html">click here</a>. </p><p>3. I need to give myself more opportunities to both be still and move. Not at the same time. LOL. I also need to do some mindful breathing from time to time, because breathing is important and focusing on my breath is like a little reset button. I always wanted one of those. </p><p>I hope you have found these posts about Prayer Retreats helpful and you can use them to design your own. Of course, it would be wonderful to go to a retreat that is designed and lead by someone else, but we have to be practical about these things. Sometimes in some seasons of our life (often when it's most important to take time to retreat) a weekend away is not feasible. You can do it yourself. I did. </p><p><br /></p><p>Until next time</p><p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJUg07rb103cv1NBhHVgxFcMJxByzfdVFgqasU5maLQWhlZEX3rn0sipzwD_1HRhFVyu9LWBH8GjAaQEBaqqhjP2QWrBdBPjVF9VEDNZxfH237NMNZ1ugw9dbbZ9eloD7x-mN9QC9nPH6B6UpewJEEQxh-0J58K-iH4s2mXKN8vuH9OYWYFmhNzwRchA/s163/Msignoff.gif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="163" data-original-width="142" height="163" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJUg07rb103cv1NBhHVgxFcMJxByzfdVFgqasU5maLQWhlZEX3rn0sipzwD_1HRhFVyu9LWBH8GjAaQEBaqqhjP2QWrBdBPjVF9VEDNZxfH237NMNZ1ugw9dbbZ9eloD7x-mN9QC9nPH6B6UpewJEEQxh-0J58K-iH4s2mXKN8vuH9OYWYFmhNzwRchA/s1600/Msignoff.gif" width="142" /></a></p><p><br /></p>MHhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15999307789329006815noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1232028203506139858.post-90813952950148997362022-09-21T06:00:00.002+10:002022-09-21T06:00:00.164+10:00My DIY Prayer Retreat- Reflection<p> I had such grand plans for my school holidays in June. I was going to spend time with various friends, learn how to play lawn bowls, watch netflix, go on a wellness retreat, start a new exercise regime, make lots of cards, declutter my wardrobe and study, do my taxes, cook freezer meals for the new school term and read a novel. OMGGM. Grand plans! </p><p>When I caught a bad cold three weeks before my holiday and was still feeling awful a week before the holidays, my plans changed! </p><p>The first week, was spent in bed, mostly. I slept during the day! I watched netflix. That's about it. I did manage to go to the specialist. </p><p>Then, the BFF asked me to house/cat sit for her and I had a brilliant idea. There was no way I could do all the things. Staying at the BFF's, on my own, was a good opportunity to have a DIY Prayer Retreat. I had seen some blog posts about DIY retreats. I was seriously excited as I prepared and it did not disappoint. The best article I read was<a href="https://arabahjoy.com/one-day-personal-prayer-retreat/" target="_blank"> <b><i>this one</i></b></a> from <i style="font-weight: bold;"><a href="https://arabahjoy.com/blog/">Arabah Joy</a>. </i><b>I recommend reading it and thinking using the ideas from there to plan your own retreat. </b></p><p>You could also check out this <a href="https://www.pinterest.com.au/agreattitle/true/" target="_blank">Pinteret board</a> with some of the articles and quotes that I used during my retreat. </p><p>You might be wondering what I planned for the retreat... </p><h4 style="text-align: left;">The Plan</h4><p> <span style="font-family: arial;">8:30 am Worship and Reflection - listen to worship music- craft</span></p><p><span style="font-family: arial;"> 9:00 am Quiet worship music, read psalms and call to worship. Do it! Whenever you can. </p><p>Until Next Time, God Bless You. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqLWGhCCwk0T5fXmKa0j1FL1J1SJWOtTk_C0gY3QgsLPdsMuSUsBM2jiOXAKNWf6xqZ03QylhuTkzzBHQCXVeZC5FT-dA9xRKNPNte1SsE1b4i8sCAc4hjyI5Rd7TgLv02-91rs8qvI34Wv4GlDvPWxT5tj2Fkv8CN4a7pGle7QfNiYRkjJM-LLnsAYQ/s161/mbutterfly.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="161" data-original-width="140" height="161" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqLWGhCCwk0T5fXmKa0j1FL1J1SJWOtTk_C0gY3QgsLPdsMuSUsBM2jiOXAKNWf6xqZ03QylhuTkzzBHQCXVeZC5FT-dA9xRKNPNte1SsE1b4i8sCAc4hjyI5Rd7TgLv02-91rs8qvI34Wv4GlDvPWxT5tj2Fkv8CN4a7pGle7QfNiYRkjJM-LLnsAYQ/s1600/mbutterfly.png" width="140" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p>Mhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12292323242971973047noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1232028203506139858.post-53542142779025198342022-09-14T15:30:00.001+10:002022-09-14T15:30:00.206+10:00Recreating cardsI made this card in 2018. It was very near the beginning of my card making journey. I had limited supplies, but my stash was starting to grow. I love this card.<div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVjllvfUiqOBTY6mkDYR9x3P1_g3l4fRdX598lgzW4w6Veo0_If0tt3xdQGjB_bC4JKyJpw1L-fM8C4fj32GXxxC1CxXa8mOcAae1q-fyVh7T0d3rONZnWDFgkkYm51ekfRkcPTgT6Q1U/s1600/1657258307070928-0.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">

</a>
</div><br /></div><div>I thought it would be fun to recreate/ CASE this card, using my current supplies. I don't have the Happy Birthday die anymore. I gifted it to a crafty friend. I used a different die, but the stencil is the same. I tell you, it was much easier to make this card this time around. At least, I do. Sometimes, I don't feel like colouring my critter stamps. The thing is, there are so many other ways to use your critter stamps. You just need to think outside the box. Let's look at a few ways you can make cards with critters, without having to build a scene or do any colouring. </p><h4 style="clear: both; text-align: left;">#1 Ink blending</h4><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXuQlLJ1IAwTAWkTE0XfWphldWzNga8Z3IC8gUBYqK3xB8MOzI94TMetIhXApvSJQMO0fDimajF2JblD8-BLMo9vwNJAc0v6VfCKwVJ1dDuDbtNZ2ehqcc8Jf-lt34KC3zNg2aDpSDpFBi7Dw3EnL3CZ5LGaKCbJTg9JEVuwcGN8mDmDJpzun-uwznZw/s564/ink%20blend%20line%20art%20elephant.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="564" data-original-width="564" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXuQlLJ1IAwTAWkTE0XfWphldWzNga8Z3IC8gUBYqK3xB8MOzI94TMetIhXApvSJQMO0fDimajF2JblD8-BLMo9vwNJAc0v6VfCKwVJ1dDuDbtNZ2ehqcc8Jf-lt34KC3zNg2aDpSDpFBi7Dw3EnL3CZ5LGaKCbJTg9JEVuwcGN8mDmDJpzun-uwznZw/s320/ink%20blend%20line%20art%20elephant.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">You don't even need to ink blend realistic colours or place them where you expect.</div><div style="text-align: center;">The colours just make a bright background for the line art to sit on. </div><div style="text-align: center;">So cute.</div><div><br /></div><h4 style="text-align: left;">#2 Stamp onto coloured cardstock</h4><div style="text-align: left;"><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEie_A6GhZEqV1Fn1NFUkRE57v5YSSI1Mq6_4RC7E2G_zbljS63cRS1OcCyEtN2XPYwAq9uidhK-kuSG5ClTNEnJKkhZsD5t1Qw9X4K8SF_yIKj1glvMEvCTaOUHVdK_lrONdLb2K0onJz7Su1ypp9pRRD3vK1lBhwzCfTwkpuCVp3U2bpw_4_3mgkyx-Q/s563/ink%20blend%20behind.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="448" data-original-width="563" height="255" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEie_A6GhZEqV1Fn1NFUkRE57v5YSSI1Mq6_4RC7E2G_zbljS63cRS1OcCyEtN2XPYwAq9uidhK-kuSG5ClTNEnJKkhZsD5t1Qw9X4K8SF_yIKj1glvMEvCTaOUHVdK_lrONdLb2K0onJz7Su1ypp9pRRD3vK1lBhwzCfTwkpuCVp3U2bpw_4_3mgkyx-Q/s320/ink%20blend%20behind.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">You won't get any shadows or light, but it doesn't matter. <br />Stamping these cute elephants on different shades of grey<br />cardstock gives enough contrast. They are so cute! </p><p>I am not great at using critter stamp sets and making critter cards. I am getting better at stamping out the critters and colouring them. I don't feel quite so intimidated as I used to when I saw a critter set. I don't have lots of critter stamp sets, but the collection is growing a bit. The thing I really struggle with, when it comes to critters, is how to use them on my card. I'm not great at scene building... too much work babe! While I can come up with a scene and think of a great story for the critters, the time and effort to get my scenes to look right are just too much. </p><p><br /></p><p>So, let's take a look at some cards I've made using critter stamps from my stash. </p><br /><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6n1DAw0ifU6sUdPkbBmE5FZI2kw8Ye17PZwyhVbLnLl_cMvupSedZzNvECZ8jlyK-_5EodNQ4YRGfmE7wBJ1HneCgT4e_Kg2gQRNYOEnvuFWka0h9YaTTXecL7KGxv_19K9ffpA_cmGKyDtgVvSYQEG7HmKlhJTJgtbw1HNLghOLq7LQsrJDUIx9xUg/s564/chick%20stencil%20ink.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="497" data-original-width="564" height="282" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6n1DAw0ifU6sUdPkbBmE5FZI2kw8Ye17PZwyhVbLnLl_cMvupSedZzNvECZ8jlyK-_5EodNQ4YRGfmE7wBJ1HneCgT4e_Kg2gQRNYOEnvuFWka0h9YaTTXecL7KGxv_19K9ffpA_cmGKyDtgVvSYQEG7HmKlhJTJgtbw1HNLghOLq7LQsrJDUIx9xUg/s320/chick%20stencil%20ink.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">A brick wall stencil makes a cute backdrop for these "hot" chicks. <br />An action wobbler means that the critter is the star and<br /> the fading out brick just compliments it making a cute little scene.<br />I can totally see these chicks exercising in their home gyms!</td></tr></tbody></table><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwhVaV0kKitfJCvCnb9nwMKtepgN4y1jv6C0_WdyugJw5J7Fhnfh5J0XBXx2a4kLJRg6p9riBONPF598sS1PECPn2Kbsi0UwEOibsCjZZgYnMqlcXS8NeO4teQPOgVVl1iD9bRAIhF0ptMPCvniLrd40NAPE0zuc07obGtqoRXNDOCg4faG1wIk4kRcw/s632/punny%20monkey.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="632" data-original-width="564" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwhVaV0kKitfJCvCnb9nwMKtepgN4y1jv6C0_WdyugJw5J7Fhnfh5J0XBXx2a4kLJRg6p9riBONPF598sS1PECPn2Kbsi0UwEOibsCjZZgYnMqlcXS8NeO4teQPOgVVl1iD9bRAIhF0ptMPCvniLrd40NAPE0zuc07obGtqoRXNDOCg4faG1wIk4kRcw/s320/punny%20monkey.jpg" width="286" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Just another stencilled backgound here. <br />The monkey looks like he is hanging around in the jungle. <br />I didn't have to worry about trees, ground, or sky,<br />but this totally works.</td></tr></tbody></table><br /><br /><div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivu_f6_qPjALLYRauIN1ak_diZ0AKi9R7oVFfbMJA7UwRYc0fWmQxoZO5v8ixSi_Bg5CAiUA2087wJAqZLRFE7KDtNk9yco6VFNxlWYHV6QeoFhPoOHbAYx0sXPRVH_sraPDscLVXzCiLrPmzzCKolAiQllxB4AcbBa2kvA_1sCkeouZbML8eVG7yPng/s564/birdie%202.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="564" data-original-width="564" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivu_f6_qPjALLYRauIN1ak_diZ0AKi9R7oVFfbMJA7UwRYc0fWmQxoZO5v8ixSi_Bg5CAiUA2087wJAqZLRFE7KDtNk9yco6VFNxlWYHV6QeoFhPoOHbAYx0sXPRVH_sraPDscLVXzCiLrPmzzCKolAiQllxB4AcbBa2kvA_1sCkeouZbML8eVG7yPng/s320/birdie%202.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">If you want to get really fancy, use some texture/ embossing paste<br />through your stencil. I had seen crafters use it in lots of different ways. When I got a gelpress, I had to get a brayer. I loved it so much, I ended up buying another one! I have one for paint and one for ink. Jennifer McGuire has<a href="https://youtu.be/QhxE_RFHeeU" target="_blank"> two videos</a> demonstrating <a href="https://youtu.be/N8RNpxeCoZQ" target="_blank">ways to use a brayer</a>. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">While you can use a brayer to apply ink to large background stanmps, your gelpress and embossing folders, you can also use it to apply ink directly onto the paper. Rolling the brayer in the ink and then onto the cardstock will give you an interesting texture and you will never be able to make two backgrounds that looks exactly the same. I had loads of fun playing with my brayer, inks and different paper/ cardstock. Well, maybe not just one. This is the fabulous HB2U stamp set from Sugar Pea Designs. It's probably retired. It was first made for a Catherine Pooler Stamp of Approval collection. It has a big sentiment of "Happy Birthday to you" and three balloon shapes, - circle, star and um, a long one - some confetti and a balloon string! It's lots of fun. I wasn't able to buy the dies for this, so the balloon die cuts are actually from another stamp set. You could use any big birthday sentiment and balloon stamps and dies to make these cards. </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlkbHT7SmlDzYRYUOPTzFkvt3ceACUQH7ddBIeD1nThqoKDjKFFX4LPo5E8tl5c84T2QwvIik64o6kklEZVHGNq4u3tz2824y6MqEA3QqNrqlGgxmvln8q59c0xVQyHHGqCUunLhHPkX_ke67_hG-vnxwttTqtkrVZkRPXL6BIiNaA9L7KV24-O5fiAQ/s563/die%20cut%20image.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="400" data-original-width="563" height="227" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlkbHT7SmlDzYRYUOPTzFkvt3ceACUQH7ddBIeD1nThqoKDjKFFX4LPo5E8tl5c84T2QwvIik64o6kklEZVHGNq4u3tz2824y6MqEA3QqNrqlGgxmvln8q59c0xVQyHHGqCUunLhHPkX_ke67_hG-vnxwttTqtkrVZkRPXL6BIiNaA9L7KV24-O5fiAQ/s320/die%20cut%20image.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">A technique I learned from a Jennifer McGuire video. <br />It makes for a great effect on a simple card. <br />1. It was one of the first photopolymer stamp set I bought and it was so worth it! I have made so many cards using this stamp set. The ones I've shown you today are just a few of them. Everyone needs a stamp set like this in their stash. It's definitely been a staple in my stash since I bought it and while I have many more stamp sets, I still reach for this one often. Sometimes I use the whole set, or just one stamp from it. I was devastated when I accidentally tore the sentiment when removing it from a block. I couldn't bring myself to throw it away and I couldn't replace it. I mended the stamp with some painters tape and it's not quite good as new, but it stamps well enough and the whole set lives on! I'm curious, what is your birthday stamp set staple? Let me know in the comments. </div><br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiScn-T3JBTQYZuWkHroqNhN8gjelmudbo2hpM9mQCmBK11lc0S2pQ5uV9YhiIwuntZGbQDJkoc3wcMDBj3LRRkgFLOi9B6BA7ioeECeHKPhx5Zewkx8HKa6giyeAn-krooPgRYAes-7neSxW270d9lghxtHGo1zhm_wGko1y-gnWcOq9bnEu2UvD2JIA/s161/mbutterfly.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="161" data-original-width="140" height="161" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiScn-T3JBTQYZuWkHroqNhN8gjelmudbo2hpM9mQCmBK11lc0S2pQ5uV9YhiIwuntZGbQDJkoc3wcMDBj3LRRkgFLOi9B6BA7ioeECeHKPhx5Zewkx8HKa6giyeAn-krooPgRYAes-7neSxW270d9lghxtHGo1zhm_wGko1y-gnWcOq9bnEu2UvD2JIA/s1600/mbutterfly.png" width="140" /></a></div><div><br /></div><br /><p><br /></p>Mhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12292323242971973047noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1232028203506139858.post-47066089201533852452022-06-29T06:00:00.022+10:002022-06-29T06:00:00.190+10:00A Card by Request#8 asked me to make her a card with a bunny. Sounds simple enough, right? <div>Here's what I made. This card came together quite quickly too. </div><div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhN-Q35EPoUYhCT1FwU9I0EAyB5dUy2FZkATLrfazlOmBSLA3eSDGykoQ7DL697kpb9khRkoijxBdTp-I6t2xhMnI5cCTCj9kHZ9YlGmfgNsFH2FiSLBKwjzw6xJHh0Axg4CB7CzBEoJ1s/s1600/1656239732706022-0.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">

</a>
</div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Some simple ink blending with a grassy stencil, then some light blue ink blending set the scene. I die cut some white clouds to add some dimension to this card. I love the picket fence border die too. My neice (#8) loves Peter Rabbit. I'm a bit of a fan myself. Of course this meant that the bunny had to be brown like Peter. I've been watching cardmakers use a Gel Press for (literally) years. The whole idea of purchasing paint and using different paper to make backgrounds felt a bit much. Then, I gradually got more and more comfortable with my card making skills and media and I wanted to try something new. I saw that many card makers were finding the joy of just playing with the Gel Press and making some beautiful brackgrounds for cards. </p><p>Then, I saw <a href="https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLTuV6i1nUI6QjYPX-unf9t1f5V10cuoOR" target="_blank">Jennifer McGuire</a> make some gorgeous cards using ink on her Gel Press. OMGGM! You mean I don't have to buy paint?! You mean I can stretch my supplies and use them in different ways to make different and interesting cards?! Okay, I gotta get on board with this! So, I bought a round Gel Press to do some experimenting and then I had to get a rectangular one. I am hooked! Check out the beautiful cards I've made since buying a Gel Press. I have more backgrounds in my file too. :) </p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQmU73f-Kwe_AUR_0lvwIS8qih8_DjJZNcZAurqE-L7vuV2FmZmRzmLG8ezkEHFj77hNBxZV6zm_lKm_5q9OcKBZUy8R9Yt692NtnZc9Jk86GqqnFlvvHqcGQwHTbZKg1iJ8BlcLv6M-iQg3Oq1vm1w4TJ70Ve4K9SD0txINJb65yNIf795t5BbgaFfA/s564/bokeh%20gel%20press.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="429" data-original-width="564" height="243" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQmU73f-Kwe_AUR_0lvwIS8qih8_DjJZNcZAurqE-L7vuV2FmZmRzmLG8ezkEHFj77hNBxZV6zm_lKm_5q9OcKBZUy8R9Yt692NtnZc9Jk86GqqnFlvvHqcGQwHTbZKg1iJ8BlcLv6M-iQg3Oq1vm1w4TJ70Ve4K9SD0txINJb65yNIf795t5BbgaFfA/s320/bokeh%20gel%20press.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Using some die cut circles to mask off the Gel Press before <br />laying down ink, meant that I had the beginning of a beautiful <br />bokeh background. There is no way we can possibly keep up with all the trends. The most important thing is that creating brings you joy. Don't feel the peer pressure to buy more stuff. Then again, buying the Gel Press has allowed me to stretch the supplies I already have and make some awesome cards. Sometimes, it's worth the cost of the new tool. I also bought a Brayer... something I was wanting to buy anyway, which is perfect for the Gel Press and can be used for so many more techniques. If you are wanting to invest in something new, you might as well choose something that can be used for lots of things. The Gel Press is also easy to store, clean and use. I also promised that I would share some snippets from it. If you are thinking about starting a gratitude journal, there really aren't any rules, but I'm going to share some tips for getting started and sticking with it. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSuQWPLdO0yqD0lCLiOltFTlqac7s8eefNzLDJVhNoZfUY4P9vYYDzxfFIMXrLAs2sOSkTzKRmtHKDxIWvOC2SodkR1umH0klsLOfAhAC8TQ0fGxLsBeE3OBhjqKmtO0kBMKc9rqPBXfFgNvPa7TBpHbyeRwUxds4OHJogXFgeKopWrqxdtvas2w5rUg/s225/gratitude%20journal%20ideas%20image.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="225" data-original-width="225" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSuQWPLdO0yqD0lCLiOltFTlqac7s8eefNzLDJVhNoZfUY4P9vYYDzxfFIMXrLAs2sOSkTzKRmtHKDxIWvOC2SodkR1umH0klsLOfAhAC8TQ0fGxLsBeE3OBhjqKmtO0kBMKc9rqPBXfFgNvPa7TBpHbyeRwUxds4OHJogXFgeKopWrqxdtvas2w5rUg/s1600/gratitude%20journal%20ideas%20image.jpg" width="225" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><h3 style="text-align: left;">Tip #1 - Date every entry. </h3><p>Even if you don't write in it everyday, it's good to know when you felt grateful for what. It makes reflection more meaningful. </p><h3 style="text-align: left;">Tip #2 - Dot Points are Delightful<span> </span></h3><p><span>It's okay if you can't write paragraphs about everything that happened that day. You don't even have to write in full sentences. Dot points and single words are just fine. </span></p><h3 style="text-align: left;"><span>Tip #3- It's okay to repeat an item. </span></h3><p>If you include something on your gratitude list every single day, that's totally okay. </p><h3 style="text-align: left;">Tip #4 - No Such Thing as Too Big or Too Small</h3><p>You can be grateful for new shoes, the 5 minute sleep in, a parent, a friend or world peace. It's about appreciating what you have. Sometimes we have to FIND something to appreciate, so if you find it, just write it down. </p><h3 style="text-align: left;">Tip #5 - Be Creative</h3><p>If you like to draw or colour, then do it in your gratitude journal. No pressure to make it perfect, because it's all about you enjoying the process of sitting down and thinking positively about your day and indeed your life. I like to use stickers in mine - stars, smiley's, quotes and icons. It's fun. I also use emoji's from time to time. </p><h3 style="text-align: left;">Tip #6 - Use Prompts</h3><p>I get mine from Pinterest, but you can get yours anywhere you like. Some of these have 30 days worth of prompts or a month at a time. I don't follow these ones in order. I pick out ones that speak to me. <a href="https://www.pinterest.com.au/pin/268104984059278994/" target="_blank"><i>Some examples?</i></a></p><blockquote style="border: none; margin: 0 0 0 40px; padding: 0px;"><h3 style="text-align: left;"><b><i>Write three that you are grateful for: </i></b></h3></blockquote><blockquote style="border: none; margin: 0 0 0 40px; padding: 0px;"><p style="text-align: left;"></p><ul style="text-align: left;"><li>people </li></ul><p></p></blockquote><blockquote style="border: none; margin: 0 0 0 40px; padding: 0px;"><p style="text-align: left;"></p><ul style="text-align: left;"><li>products </li></ul><p></p></blockquote><blockquote style="border: none; margin: 0 0 0 40px; padding: 0px;"><p style="text-align: left;"></p><ul style="text-align: left;"><li>memories </li></ul><p></p></blockquote><blockquote style="border: none; margin: 0 0 0 40px; padding: 0px;"><p style="text-align: left;"></p><ul style="text-align: left;"><li>skills </li></ul><p></p></blockquote><blockquote style="border: none; margin: 0 0 0 40px; padding: 0px;"><p style="text-align: left;"></p><ul style="text-align: left;"><li>items you can't live without </li></ul><p></p></blockquote><blockquote style="border: none; margin: 0 0 0 40px; padding: 0px;"><p style="text-align: left;"></p><ul style="text-align: left;"><li>services (e.g. hair dresser, trash collection, post office) </li></ul><p></p></blockquote><blockquote style="border: none; margin: 0 0 0 40px; padding: 0px;"><p style="text-align: left;"></p><ul style="text-align: left;"><li> places </li></ul><p></p></blockquote><blockquote style="border: none; margin: 0 0 0 40px; padding: 0px;"><p style="text-align: left;"></p><ul style="text-align: left;"><li>technology </li></ul><p></p></blockquote><p><br /></p><p>Now a peek at some of the things I have been grateful for this year... in no particular order...</p><p></p><ol style="text-align: left;"><ol><ol><li>Clean sheets- there is something wonderful about falling into a bed with clean sheets. </li><li>Air Conditioning</li><li>Ice packs and Heat packs</li><li>My medical team (I listed all the names and what they do, but I'm not including that here).</li><li>Medication</li><li>Shelly (my cat)</li><li>My Mum</li><li>The BFF (and several others in my life)</li><li>The microwave</li><li>Crafting Videos on You Tube- I learn from them and they have a calming effect on me when I can't actually craft. </li></ol></ol></ol><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFCesJ_SJ74BkKQxoSHS-UYjbhTTCQir9sugP3DbCzWQd6x5xNREEEp_iVyDTqToWr8zfQZuHnaarIUUkarBR6wfHcYV_pCHscbyjMMAHrOJ8Mqz3uZgHKvfJuQz3VI-d-R48gIlolJljQX5KNz1afRq09wxRdmkyYIg-aq7t_YDSwmGcuifZ96zlkrQ/s460/clean%20sheets.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="399" data-original-width="460" height="278" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFCesJ_SJ74BkKQxoSHS-UYjbhTTCQir9sugP3DbCzWQd6x5xNREEEp_iVyDTqToWr8zfQZuHnaarIUUkarBR6wfHcYV_pCHscbyjMMAHrOJ8Mqz3uZgHKvfJuQz3VI-d-R48gIlolJljQX5KNz1afRq09wxRdmkyYIg-aq7t_YDSwmGcuifZ96zlkrQ/s320/clean%20sheets.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div><br /></div><div>Next time: I will share some more cards with you that I have made. :) </div><div><br /></div><div>Thanks for visiting! I wanted to achieve them during the year. I also had myself a vision statement in 2018. I didn't quite meet all these goals, but I made progress on all of them. In 2019 and 2020, I decided to have a "word" of the year. Then, run everything through the filter of my word. <a href="http://agreattitle.blogspot.com/search/label/Just%20One%20Word" target="_blank">You can read more about that here. </a></p><p>2020 was tough for everyone and I decided that my lofty 'goals' were well thought out and perhaps "SMART" (read more about SMART goals here) were too much for me. In 2021, I changed tack a bit and decided that I wanted to work on developing some healthy habits that would help me reach some of those long term goals that I had hoped to achieve. </p><p>After watching a <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YX0f1KUQ-T4&t=37s" target="_blank">Clutterbug Video</a> I decided to use a "Daily Dozen". In a nutshell, you list 12 things you want to do daily, and plan to do them everyday. The great thing about this, is that you don't have to start on 1 January. You can start any time and as you are trying to develop long lasting habits, you should never really 'stop'. Once you feel a particular habit is well cemented in your daily routine, you can choose to change the point and add a different point to your dozen or you can leave it in the list while focusing on a different point that you might not be doing so well with. I didn't share my daily dozen here at AGT in 2021. I'm not sure why. </p><p>At the end of 2021, I decided that 'a dozen' was too many things. I realised that the only real reason for having 12 things on my list is for the sake of alliteration and I didn't need to do that. Calm down people, it's okay. So, while it's still called my daily dozen, I don't have a dozen 'habits' on my list. It's okay, really it is. </p><p>One of the keys to feeling some success with the Daily Dozen is to keep some things on your list that you already do daily. You can latch your new habit to an established habit to help you develop the new habit quicker. Check out <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxjKup00oF8" target="_blank">this video from How to ADHD</a>, if you want more info about this.</p><p>Here's my Daily (not a) "Dozen", in case you are interested. </p><blockquote style="border: none; margin: 0px 0px 0px 40px; padding: 0px; text-align: left;"><p>1. Read my bible and pray.</p><p>2. Drink Water (at least 1.8L).</p><p>3. Eat two serves of Fruit.</p><p>4. Exercise/ Stretch.</p><p>5. List three things I'm grateful for. </p></blockquote><p><br /></p><p>I realise I don't even have 6 things then it could be a half dozen. You could technically make Bible reading and Prayer different points. </p><p>The Exercise/Stretch point means that I have to, at the very least, stretch, every single day, no matter what. I try to include more vigorous exercise each day as well, but when you have chronic pain you have to give yourself grace. </p><p>I'm maintaining a gratitude journal. While I'm not quite managing to list three items in the journal everyday, I am acknowledging three things everyday, before I go to bed. I say them to myself. 5 days is the maximum number of days I have gone without writing in my journal. If this is the case, I reflect on the past 5 days and include several items to my gratitude list. I use prompts to help me think outside the box a bit when I'm considering what I'm grateful for. </p><p><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzgOba6WxrClVzRf9bhhefP9fiJ_fH384U9tZkqAip8nt4Rsja7_54Ur9XdYlIMbnzebG7pDkcd7ZDP5PM-n6ZNjomWAC06p9KmfkjXJIZCpnYI-_X94lyQyp3_MAkIGaywHtGT5JGGvOU5KdEyEdHiCrJ5wcVst5xLbcLH-Cb45UCWVvX6-uF0BjvQw/s275/light%20switch.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="183" data-original-width="275" height="183" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzgOba6WxrClVzRf9bhhefP9fiJ_fH384U9tZkqAip8nt4Rsja7_54Ur9XdYlIMbnzebG7pDkcd7ZDP5PM-n6ZNjomWAC06p9KmfkjXJIZCpnYI-_X94lyQyp3_MAkIGaywHtGT5JGGvOU5KdEyEdHiCrJ5wcVst5xLbcLH-Cb45UCWVvX6-uF0BjvQw/s1600/light%20switch.jpg" width="275" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Not my actual light swith! ;)</td></tr></tbody></table><br />My Daily (not a) "Dozen" is posted in my bedroom - right next to the light switch. Just before I turn the light out each night, I read my daily dozen and tick off which ones I have managed to do that day. Most days, I can tick off all the things. Some days, I haven't had enough water (and I know it, because I have a headache!) or I only ate one piece of fruit. Some days, I realise I haven't stretched since morning, so I do a few quickies before getting into bed. </p><p>My Daily (not a) Dozen has really helped me this year to focus on small steps and remember to start fresh each day. I have always had a goal of drinking a minimum quantity of water and for several years, I have read my Bible and prayed daily. These are not so hard to "check off". It means that whenever I read my list, I still feel a sense of achievement even if I can't tick off everything. </p><p>What habits would you include on your Daily Dozen? Would a Dozen be too many for you too? Let me know in the comments. </p><p>Next time, some snippets from my gratitude journal. :)</p><p>I appreciate you! </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYMo14ZXJKBa32kQa7YX2Na35qkwnvygFlVPTkfoRoagxPl0zfY2L14W5lS61uH2iJj_PlGBKjlIDBcjMTQVF3lYxi9gbp1gqQOfhGePcvniRahunLDjlISeZ4rB3y3i_0lkmVHdWoOmPMGS-_OXWba4BktNn80PxaWkQKgxrLW8gmCHCv7dwgXQklhQ/s161/mbutterfly.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="161" data-original-width="140" height="161" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYMo14ZXJKBa32kQa7YX2Na35qkwnvygFlVPTkfoRoagxPl0zfY2L14W5lS61uH2iJj_PlGBKjlIDBcjMTQVF3lYxi9gbp1gqQOfhGePcvniRahunLDjlISeZ4rB3y3i_0lkmVHdWoOmPMGS-_OXWba4BktNn80PxaWkQKgxrLW8gmCHCv7dwgXQklhQ/s1600/mbutterfly.png" width="140" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p>Mhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12292323242971973047noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1232028203506139858.post-44582643970681623602022-04-20T07:00:00.002+10:002022-04-20T07:00:00.173+10:00One Stamp Set- 6 Cards! <div class="separator"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Hello Everyone, </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">After my recent post, where I showed you how I made 9 cards using one small stamp set. I started wondering how many cards I had made using other small stamp sets I have in the stash. Mary Polanco has a small series of videos called <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=823kgeLVM6U" target="_blank">10 cards a mini stamp set</a>, showing how she makes at least 5 cards with a small stamp set, then links to a crafty friend who makes 5 different cards. I don't have that many crafty friends, so I don't really have the opportunity to collaborate this way. We all know how much I love<a href="https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkIlNimItNP8xLJMP-_YuAg" target="_blank"> Mary</a> and my love of a bargain, so I have quite a few small stamp sets in my stash. They are usually include a small image and a sentiment. That's it. This can feel a bit limiting and admittedly, these stamp sets are often only designed to be used one way. Let's be honest though, we all like to stretch what we have and the best way to do that, is to think outside the box. I tore some copy paper to mask off some ink blended 'mountains'. The sun stamp needed to be masked too, so I used the same torn paper and flipped it over. I added some blue ink around the top of the card, leaving some white around the sun, so it looked like it was glowing. This scene could work for practically any sentiment. I tried out so many different sentiments on this card and they all could have worked. I thought about something with "today", "tomorrow", or time moving on, like "today is your birthday". It could even work for a Graduation card, with something like "adventure awaits" or "you could move mountains". I settled on this lovely sentiment about a "path of light" in this "dark time" to make this a sentiment card. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjdIORpRabvHjVQEgbpj_HEmy3ht-3rJWCSEXHZskno05GE0QhYBHV7PYqBbFZutoepObT2EJsmM-q6UucyspDFhoWH9IwLPkNM8kUmC8X8k7SJsOJmZ3Mm20ECEV_-NSaorSkxY5drfSI64VqW7W-DmkJ2b-fQXOmeNqzt1eQGS756iP_ruUwHE9l7vw=s564" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="564" data-original-width="564" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjdIORpRabvHjVQEgbpj_HEmy3ht-3rJWCSEXHZskno05GE0QhYBHV7PYqBbFZutoepObT2EJsmM-q6UucyspDFhoWH9IwLPkNM8kUmC8X8k7SJsOJmZ3Mm20ECEV_-NSaorSkxY5drfSI64VqW7W-DmkJ2b-fQXOmeNqzt1eQGS756iP_ruUwHE9l7vw=s320" width="320" /></a></div><p>Later, I was looking at the birthday card I'd made and thought... You can certainly <a href="http://agreattitle.blogspot.com/search/label/%23RockWhatUGot" target="_blank">rock what you got</a> to make some Christmas cards. I actually bought this stamp set, because I have a large sentiment die that says "sunshine" and I thought this stamp set would go brilliantly with it. I haven't even pulled out the die yet and I have already made 9 cards, for almost any occasion!</p><p>There are several other small stamp sets in my stash and I really need to try this with them as well. Using the residual ink on the brushes I managed to make these gorgeous cards. The images were already coloured and cut out, so it was really easy to put these together. Unbelievable, right? Check these out. </p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgPMeEQIBTDX-m3rCQaoKPYjcLCfiObpeE221xosQs_uEh-IZuBAgzLDRbk5LT8VuD_ofec_yIHDfV6YTFeNZEG0TlkeLK9a9c07I3n87QKq6mVlrmkaEXat6YkBv4IrKRu6WjYKIepT-zt4D4ctHDgpm-_GxC4oy9K403BzZ3iHzBpBvM7WjMJTx1TWg=s564" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="564" data-original-width="564" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgPMeEQIBTDX-m3rCQaoKPYjcLCfiObpeE221xosQs_uEh-IZuBAgzLDRbk5LT8VuD_ofec_yIHDfV6YTFeNZEG0TlkeLK9a9c07I3n87QKq6mVlrmkaEXat6YkBv4IrKRu6WjYKIepT-zt4D4ctHDgpm-_GxC4oy9K403BzZ3iHzBpBvM7WjMJTx1TWg=s320" width="320" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Using residual ink from your blending brushes, gives a<br />soft and cloudy look to the background.
